It feels good to be back in Maya
I haven't been working in Maya for the last few months. Other work has kept me busy. But I finally had a project I needed to get working on so here is the first part. Paul Gerla, Kieth Beavers, and I are doing a model of Herod's temple for a New Testament class. Paul did the modeling and Kieth and I are doing uv's and maps. Here is one small part of the overall work. We are deploying the project in Unity so that we can get familiar with it. These textures are composite photos and some paint overs.

some stuff
I did a bunch of these for a client in GA. I had to bust these out fast, but it was a fun project. Took me about 3ish or 4 days of solid all day work to get these done.

Voldemort
I recently finished all of the Harry Potter books. Yes, I audio booked them, but its the best way to be productive and live inside the covers of a book at the same time. Originally, I was one of those guys who carried a mild loathing for the whole Harry Potter nonsense. Yes, you might be thinking that I generally saw the whole thing like the Dursley's saw wizardry, but that's not the whole case. Fandom that borderlines on obsession is never healthy. I know... I used to be the biggest Anime Otaku of all time. However, it was not this that made me resist (those far too enthused fans were just a turn off, not a full show stopper). It was more to the fact that I had been reading books like 'Wheel of Time' by Robert Jordan and the 'Shannarah Series' by Terry Brooks. These books are much more high fantasy and pull me in much more than hearing about Harry Potter and his f-ed up under-the-stairs living situation (I would have raised hell if I were him).
Then, with the mixture of my new wife's subtle encouragements, joined with our going to Harry Potter World in Orlando this last summer, helped me decide that it was finally time to see what all the fuss was about. I must say that it was a rather fun read/ listen, and even though it probably won't go down as one of my favorite book series in the world, it will remain high on the list.
I started drawing people from the series. So first off.... here is Lord Voldemort. Maybe I will color it at some point. Not sure.

Beethoven got some attitude
I am just working on some more music stuff for class. I liked the way this little Beethoven turned out. I kind want a League of Leagands character based of an angry little Beethoven! Then I might actually play something other than Ashe.

Pierce from Community
I have been a fan of Chevy Chase for ages. Ever since my dad and I would watch National Lampoons Vacation films when my mom was out of the house and could not cast her disapproving vote. Of course now days it just makes me happy to see him as Pierce on Community. As an assignment in Ryan Woodward's Character Design class we were assigned to do a Caricature study of someone famous. I used this chance to explore some Chevy Chase. This illustration was done pretty fast. I think 45 min-ish, maybe an hour after the touch up in photoshop.

Viennie V Comic work
Okay folks, so a few months ago I did the comic work for the Viennie V album insert. I had a lot of fun doing it, but I didn't get to plus everything I wanted due to deadlines. If you haven't seen Viennie V's music videos then take a look here: http://www.youtube.com/all_comments?threaded=1&v=4J1gC__24O8
Here you guys go, the first 3 pages up are in order and the last 3 are taken from different spots, but that's as much as I can show you here. Please support the album and go to Viennie's site to buy it!

An update after too long
I have actually been sketching this summer. I know it seems like I vanished, but I am still around. I have a bunch of things to post, but rather than dump them all on you I figured I would just grab a few sketches from this summer and throw them up now and slowly feed out the rest.
I am flying back to GA in a few hours for my wedding reception there and then its back home, finish up some work and then get ready for this 10 day production. Lots of awake all night on sets and a massive load of set dressing. It will be fun, but with school starting up it will also be taxing, especially now that I live a good 45 minutes from school and an hour from the shoot location.
I will update again soon I hope.

some random stuff
First I have the finished Telekinesis logo. I had to postpone doing this a few weeks longer than I wanted due to wedding stuff, the Riot art test, and the now 12 page full color comic I am working on. I took some breaks when I was sick of the comic and got this together.
Im trying to get a little more motion in my drawings and this levi ad kept popping up of a dude doing a hand stand so this happened.
this is old. It was me finishing up a tattoo design from a photo of the guys started tattoo. The jesus and the volcano and part of the mountain were already done.
This is older too. I did this a few months ago for Live for Music and Shaun Barret. It was a fun little work.

getting hitched and some ramblings about it and such
The time has finally come. I am getting married. Yup, hitched, tied down, tamed, saying goodbye to the bachelor days and all that. I am luckily marrying my best friend. She is a patient, kind hearted soul who for some reason has the ability to deal with me and my tumultuous life. I really am quite lucky to have broken past the friend zone and swindled the girl into liking me! I have known Claire since 2007 so that makes it almost 5 years now. During that time I have had girlfriends and she has had boyfriends, but we still managed to stay friends and when the stars aligned and we both ended up in the right place, our paths stopped just crossing finally and paralleled. I for one am thankful that they did. I kept hearing that when you find the right girl its just easy. I never believed that because my relationships were always hard in one way or another.(a large part of that difficulty my own making!) Timing I have been told by some. Different goals by others. Religion differences. Well Claire was like glass. Smooth and simple. There were a few little air bubbles, but nothing major and as I spent more and more time with this woman I started to realize that this was what they all talk about. The easiness. The simplicity. The ability to just be open and accepting of one another. It hit me back in ferurary of this year that I really wanted this girl with me always and that I best put a ring on it. So in 16 days I will marry Claire Valene Bagley and we will take on this crazy adventure of a life together. WOOT!
So most of my friends and family will get this above invite soon, but if you didnt fill out the facebook forms or get me your address one way or another then know that your invited to the Utah reception, Georgia reception, or both. Come dance, come cut loose, and come help us celebrate our marriage. And dangit, stay classy folks!
p.s.
If you cant tell, there is a hint of steampunk in our wedding theme, so if you feel like dawning the monocle, top hat, Victorian styled garb, or geared up steampunk robot arm, feel free! ;)
