I have been working on this sculpt a lot over the last bit. Its almost done and ready for a game rez retopo and some paint. Then I will pass him to my rigging friend and my animator friend.

Reality Not Included Comic Anthology

 Hey ladies and gents, We have been putting together a pretty cool project called: Reality Not Included. It is a comic and art anthology of some of BYU's coolest artists. It will be over 150 pages and its going to include work from several graduates who are in the industry working in concept and story boarding. Some of these guys and gals have worked everywhere from 343 (Halo 4) to Dreamworks. Please go check out this project and help us publish this book and get it into your hands

Okay Okay


Yea yea, I haven't posted anything in like million years. But the bright side is that that my sketchbook is filled with shinanagins like this warm up I did this morning. So eventually I will get to posting all that up. I have been working here at Disney Interactive Avalanche and all of that stuff is secret and safe like the ring never was... anyways.

Metro

I have the pleasure of posting a film that I was involved in. I did a lot of compositing and ended up an effects lead on this. Its has done its rounds in festivals and has won some cool awards n stuff. The coolest part of working on this film was working with the guys who made it. This is from the mind brain of Jake Wyatt and it was fun to be a part of. Enjoy ladies and gents.

End of school, last few things to finish....


I need to finish up a few things....
1)The textures on this guy.



2) A painting I am doing for Chasm
3) An experimental animation piece
4) Take my religion final
5) Finish up some effects work for King of Iceland

And I did these a while ago. The Aladdin one isn't done yet. I have design of the Genie too, he just needs paint.



Still waiting to hear back from several studios for summer internship stuff.
So much of this summers plans have to do with internships. My Brother gets married this June, so I cant buy a ticket out until I know where I will be. My apartment complex is holding their last 2 bedroom apartment for only a few more days. If I get Avalanche we will move 2 doors over into a sweet 2 bedroom place and my wife won't have a living room that duals as my office. If I don't get that then we will start looking for places a little more south. Its all in the air. Sometimes I hate it when its all in the air. I like to know what I am going to be doing. I like having a plan. Right now I have 10 plans. 8 to many. Oh well, 1 thing is set in stone, I will buy Darksiders 2 the day it comes out and play it like an addict!

Speed painting stuff

I haven't posted in ages. Sorry about that. Busy with school and trying to get an internship this summer. Here is a painting I did this morning. It was about 3 hours... maybe a bit less. I started it around 5 am as a texture experiment for some assets I need to paint. My goal this summer is to do 5 paintings per week. Maybe I will get better after 4 months of that.

We didn't end up using this or the design Lindsey did. I actually haven't seen what a finished illustration of her looks like as the project was taken from me, and I have only seen loose and rough renders. I was most unwilling for this to happen, but it happened none the less, and it is in the past. Regardless, here is some of the development. Enjoy

Working on making a video game

 We likely have dropped the daggers and will be using artifacts and glyphs insead but here are some of the finished designs and drafts.



This was a roughed out version of the main dude. I ma finish this painting sometime... someday....

Daggers


Fire: Allows you to snuff out torches after concentrating on one. Allows you to find torches and ignite them. Allows you to knock out fire guards by turning their burn off. (this is gained in latter levels as you are stronger)

Cloaking: Allows a near invisibility for short bursts. This time grows longer as you get stronger.

Vision: Allows you to see in the dark for short bursts. The duration and brightness grow as you level up.

Iron: Allows you to unlock "Lock and Key" doors after a time of concentration. The time shortens as you level up. This will not allow you to open Rune sealed gates and doors. Possible metal push and pull as you level up.

Air: Allows you to jump higher and climb faster. (I could see area where you need to jump large gaps to avoid guards.

Speed: Allows quick dashes of speed

Mist: Turns you into a human sized mist shape. It allows you to pass through smaller areas, and in some levels that have mist patches you are invisible to guards.
